UMG HOLDING START A SERIES OF EDUCATIONAL LECTURES FOR GRADUATES OF KYIV SCHOOLS

The project's key task is the development of knowledge about occupations in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics among senior pupils. In Ukraine, the initiator of the STEM Education Coalition is the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility Development. UMG Holding joined the STEM Education Coalition in September 2015. In Kyiv, STEM is organized in several stages. In the first one, members of the Coalition jointly selected 20 schools from the applicants to participate in the educational project. On March 4, pupils of the 10th and 11th grades of these schools had the first opportunity to meet the partner-companies in the project. UMG specialists talked to the future graduates about the specific features of the Holding's business and announced the upcoming practical classes. Classes in the form of workshops and practical seminars will be held as part of the next stage of the program, from March to May 2016. During this time, UMG experts will demonstrate examples of implementation of the Holding's new project to senior pupils. The company's specialists will also explain what professional competencies and education one needs to have to successfully launch new businesses in the raw materials industry. Overall, it will help senior pupils approach the question of selecting a future profession and university in a more informed way. The STEM Education Coalition helps us implement this task to the full extent. The project provides school graduates with a unique opportunity to evaluate the advantages of different specializations from the perspective of real business and target the development of the competencies that interest them." The organization provides consultation on development of strategy, programs and communications in CSR, monitoring and evaluation of project efficiency, preparation, and verification of of non-financial reports. The Center has implemented more than 50 projects, prepared and issued more than 125 publications, held more than 200 public events, involving around 4,000 representatives of businesses, NGOs, and the mass media, and organized business labs for development of CSR competencies.
