Clay extraction
UMG’s clay extraction businesses are some of the world’s key suppliers of white plastic clays. The annual output of the company’s clay extraction assets is about 4 million tonnes. UMG operates 11 quarries and extracts 60 types of clay.

Limestone and dolomite production
UMG's flux dolomite enterprises are among Ukraine’s largest for extracting and processing limestone and dolomite, with an annual output of 10 million tonnes of finished product. The main buyer is the Ukrainian market.

Processing and sale of coal combustion products
UMG RESOURCE is an end-to-end operator that sells coal combustion products from the ten combined head and power (CHP) plants of the company DTEK. Major products: microspheres, dry fly ash, ash slag mix, granulated slag, and wet fly ash. Buyers include Ukraine, the USA, Argentina, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Portugal, Spain, UAE, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Germany, and Belarus.

Processing and sale of rare and technical gases
UMG RT GAS is an exclusive operator that sells rare and technical gases from iron and steel plants. The product portfolio includes neon, xenon, krypton, argon, oxygen, and nitrogen.
North America, Asia, Turkey, Romania, Moldova, and Poland are the main markets for these gases.

In 2016, Vesco, the clay production business of investment company UMG, sold 2.2 million tonnes of clay, an 11% decrease over 2015.
In 2016, the flux and dolomite business of the UMG investment company, represented by the Novotroitskoye Ore Mining (NOM) and the Dokuchayevsk Flux and Dolomite Plant (DFDP), increased the sales of limestone products by 24.4% YOY, up to 3.4 million tonnes.
